Sheriff Year in Review - edited again

It is with great honor and gratitude that I write to you today, having served as your elected Sheriff for the past year. Over the past 12 months, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and worked together to make our community safer and more united. 

I sincerely appreciate the trust you placed in me to lead the Office of the Sheriff; it is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. Our Office is dedicated to the pursuit of justice, fairness, and community engagement and, together, we have achieved significant milestones in ensuring our courts and residents remain safe and secure.

Our dedicated law enforcement team has worked tirelessly to address local concerns, quickly respond to emergencies, and implement community-oriented policing strategies. Through collaborative efforts, we have fostered stronger relationships between the Office of the Sheriff and the community, promoting transparency and accountability along the way. 

I am proud to report the creation of the Sheriff’s Behavioral Health Unit, which was established to better assist our residents who navigate mental health challenges. I am equally proud of the formation of the Bureau of Professional Accountability, which will enhance the level of oversight and scrutiny upon the actions of our employees. While our work is far from over, I remain committed to addressing emerging challenges and improving our strategies to keep communities safe.
